SGIP’s new Grid Management Working Group met February 8, 2016 while at DistribuTECH to explore and determine requirements for grid modernization.
The Grid Management Working Group Industry Chair is John Bubb, SCE, and the Industry Vice Chair is Aleksi Paaso, ComEd.
At this time, the working group led by SGIP, will continue as a utility-only group with selective participation with labs and academia.
The purpose of the Grid Management Working Group is to unite utility leaders in discussions on key operational concepts, capabilities and architecture principles relating to future grid control and operational technologies needed to manage a more complex grid due to the rapid rise of DERs.
The Grid Management Working Group is planning a face- to-face meeting in April 2016. Additional meeting details will be sent via email to those already signed up for this working group.
If you are a utility and have not yet joined, but are interested in joining the Grid Management Working Group and/or attending the April meeting, please contact Sharon Allan directly at email@example.com to be added to the working group and to receive upcoming meeting details
