Sharon Allan
CEO and President

Sharon Allan is the CEO and President of SGIP.  She also serves as an Advisor to EnerTech Capital.  Previously, Mrs. Allan ran her own consulting firm and Accenture NA Smart Grid Practice. She also served as President of Elster Integrated Solutions, Chief Knowledge Officer of Elster Electricity, Director of Product Management ABB, and IBM Marketing Information.

In 2015, Mrs. Allan was named one of the “Top 50 Smart Grid Pioneers” by Smart Grid Today and one of the “100 Movers and Shakers of the Smart Grid in 2012” by Greentech Media. Smart Grid News recognized her as “Smart Grid’s three most powerful women,” Now magazine as “One of the 50 Key Women in Energy,” and World Generation magazine’s ‘Class of 2007’ recognized leaders. Sharon is also a contributor to “Accelerating Successful Smart Grid Pilots,” a report issued by the World Economic Forum.

Sharon is an honors graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and holds an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua Business School.

Aaron Smallwood
Vice President Technology

Aaron has been in Information Technology for 20 years and in the utility industry for the last 15 years. As Director of IT Operations at the Electric Reliability of Council of Texas (ERCOT), Aaron was responsible for the multi-data center IT operations of ERCOT’s real-time grid and market systems, deregulated retail market systems, Enterprise Data Warehouse, systems integration, and market settlement systems. In other roles at ERCOT he led business/technology alignment, IT strategy development, program financial management for the Texas Nodal Market Implementation, IT stakeholder relationship management, and the IT divisional project office.

Prior to ERCOT, Aaron was responsible for managing the relationship between IT and utility business units at Aquila, Inc., working with utility and IT leaders to ensure that IT services were aligned with business objectives and that IT was positioned to support their needs.

Dave Hardin
Chief Architect

Dave Hardin has extensive experience designing, integrating and managing enterprise information and automation in the energy and manufacturing sectors. He has held senior technical and management positions at EnerNOC and Schneider/Invensys. Dave has been active in Smart Grid initiatives since 2006 including serving on the OpenADR Alliance Board of Directors, SGIP Board of Directors, co-chair of the SGIP Architecture Committee, chair of the SGIP Industrial-to-Grid Domain Expert Working Group and vice chair of the SGIP Transactive Energy Coordination Group. Dave is also serving on the OPC Foundation Technical Advisory Council and is member emeritus of the GridWise Architecture Council (GWAC), a Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP), and an IEEE Certified Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM).

Gabrielle Puccio
Vice President, Member and Public Affairs

Gabrielle is responsible for all SGIP internal and external communications including those related to member, public and media relations. She is a communications executive with demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategy, corporate and product rebranding and identity plans, sales enablement campaigns, as well as member, media and public relations for domestic and energy global markets.

Gabrielle’s most recent industry experience includes: Communications Change Manager at Cisco Systems for the global Advanced Service Operations teams; Senior IT Business Analyst at Duke Energy (Raleigh office) providing project and resource management to IT Grid Modernization staff; Senior Marketing Manager at Infosys supporting the global Smart Grid, Energy and Sustainability markets; and Director, Corporate Communications for Elster (Electricity, Gas, Water) supporting market channels including North America, Canada, Latin America, Australia, MENA, and parts of Europe.

Lesley’s background encompasses 15 FORTUNE® to start-up, public and private-sector companies on a global scale. She has served in a variety of executive assistant and managerial roles in the technology and energy sectors, as well as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, finance, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

She has an extensive international background in travel, languages (English, Italian, Spanish and French) and foreign cultures.  She lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband and three children.
